05.09.25 - Newsletter
Welcome back everyone!
What a wonderful first week we’ve had back at Ravenswood Primary School. It’s been so lovely to see all of our children and families. The children have worked so hard! They look very smart in their school uniform and have been impressing their new teachers. It has also been lovely to give out certificates in assembly today and hear all about how well your lovely children have been doing. Please check the newsletter weekly (each Friday) as we often share important dates and reminders about things coming up in school.
New SENDCO

Hello, my name is Miss Taylor, and I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new SENDCO. I’m excited to be joining such a welcoming school community and am passionate about supporting all children to reach their full potential. I have previously worked in North Tyneside as a Teacher and SENDCO, and I’m looking forward to getting to know the children and working closely with families to ensure the best possible outcomes for every learner at Ravenswood.
School Improvements
We’ve had a lot of exciting improvements in our school over the summer holiday including:
A new large interactive screen in our KS1 Hall:

A new fire pit to support our increase in outdoor learning this year:

A new NEST playground area:

We’ve also had other areas developed such as refurbishing children’s toilets (however, you probably don’t want to see a photo of toilets on our newsletter).
Social Media
Once we have received all of the children’s photo consent information we will be able to share more of their learning with you. Our school Facebook and Instagram account can be accessed by clicking on the:
Icons at the bottom of our home screen or each of our website pages.
Lunchtime Supervisor
We are also looking for a new Lunchtime Supervisor to join our school team. If you would like more information about this position, please email: office@ravenswoodprimary.co.uk for more information.
Parent handbooks
Today you should have received a small leaflet containing relevant information for your child’s class. We have shared key information such as school entry times, PE days etc. as well as the joint values across the Ouseburn Learning Trust:

Ravenswood Primary School is part of the Ouseburn Learning Trust along with six other local primary schools. We share the same school values on respectful learning and have the same expectations of behaviour from everybody.
By attending any of our schools, you are agreeing to:
Support your child's learning by encouraging regular attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude toward school.
Communicate respectfully with all members of the school community, including staff, other parents, and students.
Work in partnership with the school by attending meetings, responding to communications, and engaging with school activities where possible.
Promote positive behaviour by supporting the school’s rules, values, and policies.
Respect school staff and decisions, raising concerns constructively and through the proper channels.
Ensure your child is ready to learn, with the appropriate uniform, equipment, and mindset for the school day.
Protect the school environment, including appropriate use of social media and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children.
