Friends of Ravenswood – Pirate Ship! 

Yesterday AB playgrounds began installing grass mats on our school field in preparation for our new sunken pirate ship: 

The pirate ship is going to be constructed off site and when it’s ready (in a few weeks) it will be lifted into position on the school field. This has all been made possible by the Friends of Ravenswood (our school PTA) and the money made through your contributions to events they run. Lost/Stolen Items

Last week, I sent home a handbook to all parents which included the following reminder:
“Toys/teddies – To avoid children losing or damaging items that are precious to them, toys/teddies should not be brought into school.”

Unfortunately, this week we’ve had reports of children losing or having Labubu toys taken. We understand these can be both costly and very special to the children. Whilst we will try to do what we can to help locate missing items, we cannot guarantee their safe return.

At school we have raised the issue with the children during assembly and staff have been extra vigilant during break times. However, children must always have access to their coats, bags and the toilets and these areas cannot be permanently supervised.

We therefore kindly ask once again that children do not bring toys or special belongings into school. This will help us avoid any further upset or difficulties.

Safer streets:

Please note that Ravenswood road and the surrounding streets (Farnley Road, Stanmore Road) are closed from 8am until 9:30am and again from 2:30 until 4pm.

These closures are part of the safer streets scheme. This is a reminder to parents to not use these roads between 8 -9.30am and 2:30-4pm to keep children safe when journeying to and from school.
