Start of the season success!

A very well done to our new under 11 boys team, who started the season very well. Mr Chapman reported that they played three, won three, scored 8 and conceded 0. A magnificent team performance!
Reading Challenge Winners!
Out of all of the schools in the city, Ravenswood Primary School was the highest ranked for the most children engaged with Newcastle Libraries’ Story Garden Summer Reading Challenge - Well done everybody!

Outdoor learning
We’re having a push on outdoor learning this year as we have such lovely grounds at Ravenswood. We’ve been very lucky to receive donations of bulbs from Mrs Ridley, Mrs Addison and Mrs Hair. There are enough for every child in school to plant and classes have began planting them across our fields so that we have a lovely bloom this spring. Below are images of some of our nursery children starting the planting.

Playground Helpers
This week lots of our year 6 children have been trained up to be playground leaders. They will be looking to help engage any children who need a buddy and sit on the blue buddy benches in our playground.
Key Dates:
On Tuesday 30th September and Thursday 2nd October, classrooms for children in Year 1 to Year 6 will be open for 30 minutes for any parents that would like to look through the children’s books (in advance of parent evening the following week). Key Stage 2 classrooms will be open from 3.15pm to 3.45pm and Key Stage 1 classrooms will be open from 3.20pm to 3.50pm. More information will be shared closer to the time.
On Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th October we will have parents’ evenings for all of our children. Further information on how to book appointments for these will come out later in the term.
