School training day

A reminder that Ravenswood Primary School will be closed on Friday 5th December as we have a school training day. Staff will be learning about new school schemes but also receive training on our new outdoor firepit area in the woods so that we can start to take our children out for campfires! Clowning Around (who offer wraparound childcare for school) are open and available for child care if you need support on that day, you can contact: clowningaround1@hotmail.co.uk for more information

         Scholastic Book Fair

Thank you very much for supporting our school book fair. This will help us to buy more books for our school library.

Message from the Chair of Governors

To all in the Ravenswood Community, I would like to introduce myself as the new Chair of Governors of our fantastic school. It is a privilege to hold this position and I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to do so. I started out as a governor here during 2020 and have really enjoyed supporting the school over the last five years. As a teacher myself, at a large secondary school and sixth form south of the river, I don't get to do the school run as often as I'd like for my two girls. However, I do visit Ravenswood regularly so if you do see me in school, especially at one of the many events organised by our wonderful and committed staff team, please do say hello.

    Non-Uniform day – Wednesday 3rd December

On Wednesday next week we are having a non-uniform day to raise donations for the tombola for the winter fair. We’re asking parents (if you can) to please send a donation of chocolates / bottles for the tombola. The Friends of Ravenswood will be in school that morning to help starting arrangements.

Nursery Open Day

We have our final Nursery meeting for prospective nursery parents (for next year) on Wednesday 3rd December at 4pm.

   Christmas is coming …

Derek, Vic and Bob have appeared again – this must mean that Christmas is on it’s way! They usually appear at the start of December and they should live in my office. However, they’re so sneaky, they sometimes run away into children’s classes. If children find them, they can safely return to my office and as a reward get to open of the advent calendar windows – keep an eye out!

Next week we have our first Christmas show of the year with Nursery performing at 1:30 to parents on Thursday 4th December.

On that day we also have children from our KS2 choir going to sing Christmas songs at St Gabriel's church.
