Ravenswood Primary School

Week beginning 4th January 2021

Happy New Year to everyone at Ravenswood.

What a start to 2021! I certainly didn’t predict this.

All parents will receive a rather long email from me today about the week we have had and I have made it available in the letters section of the website, if you need it. I won’t repeat myself in this week’s blog, apart from thanking our amazing staff for everything that they have done this week. Mr Nolan and the cleaning team, Angela and the kitchen team, Mrs West and the office team, our Governing Body and all of our teaching staff have been incredible and have adapted to new norms every day. They are all heroes.

I would also like to give a special mention to Mr Laurie, our new Deputy Head. What a first week for him. He has settled in immediately and has already been a huge support to me and all of the staff. It’s great to have him on the team.

It was lovely to have a full school on Monday, which probably made Monday night’s announcement even more disappointing. The children who have been in school since Wednesday have again adapted to our new systems and are beginning to settle in to their learning.

Thanks for everything that you are managing to do at home. Remember to stay positive and if learning becomes stressful take a break. Staying safe from the virus includes keeping emotionally healthy.

If we stay safe and stay at home wherever possible, we will get through this quicker. I can’t wait to have a full school again.

Enjoy the snow!!
